Questionnaire #2 A general questionnaire from Belgium
Basic information about the lifestyle of Czech teenagers
Questions:
1. What do you like doing in your spare time?
I like watching movies, going to the cinema, listening to music, reading or just chatting with my friends. Going in pub with friends, disco,teeroom, Cafebar
2. What do you usually do during the weekend?Relaxing, watching TV, doing sports, sleeping,
3. Do you go out? Where?I like going out with my friends. Usually we go to the tea room and have some great tea or to the music club, in the center, walking in the nature,..
4. What is your favourite music style? Do you prefer listening to Czech music or English music?Mostly I listen to reggae, rock, jazz, blues, ska,hip- hop, techno, .. There are maybe four or five Czech bands which I like but I prefer foreign music.
5. Do you also have High School (=only bachelor diploma) besides universities?You can get the bachelor diploma only at the university in the Czech Republic. After three years of studying at the university you have to pass bachelor exams in order to get a bachelor diploma. Then you can continue studying for two more years and if you pass the final exams you can get a magister diploma.
6. How long is your summer holiday?Two months – July and August
7. What is your favourite holiday destination? Why?Mostly we go to the sea in Croatia and Italy!!!! But some people prefer holiday in Czech republic !!!
8. Which typical Czech festivals are there? How do you celebrate them?We don´t have many typical Czech festivals but like most people we celebrate Christmas, New Years Eve, Easter, etc. Of course, we have some public holiday like “Freedom from Fascism” or “the St Wenceslaus Day (the patron of our country)”.
9. What is your traditional food? What is the most popular food of teenagers? Do you have lunch in your school canteen?Sirloin, goulash with dumplings, pork with sauerkraut dumplings; the most popular food of teenagers is fast food especially frighten cheese and chips, gyros; yes we have lunch in school canteen every school day.
10. Which clothing style do you like? What are the most popular brands? Is there a shopping mall in Třebíč?We prefer sport style and modern clothes. Nike, Puma, Quicksilver, Roxy and othersports or modern brands as C&A, Clockhouse, Zara, Terranova, New Yorker, Fish Bone, Orsay, Vero Mode. Here are only small shops in Třebíč, but more shopping malls are in Brno which is 60 km far from Trebic.
11. Are you used to having a part-time job while studying?The most of students have got a part-time job in summer holiday. Somebody have it also during all year.
12. Do you read any books/magazines/strips...? What kind?Mainly magazines about sports, mode, famous people, newspapers
13. Do you have a computer/internet at home?Yes, we have got both. And at school we can use them too.
14. Which sport is number 1 sport for girls/boys in your country? Your number 1 sport?Boys – football, ice-hockey
Girls – volleyball, dancing
15. Which foreign languages do you study? How many hours a week? How many hours a week do you study maths and sciences?Czech – 3 hours
English – 3 hours (+ seminaire 2 hours)
Germany or French or Russian– 3 hours (+ seminairre 2 h.)
Maths – 4 hours
Biology – 2 hours
Chemistry – 2 hours
Physic – 3 hours
16. Do you have state exams at the end of the year? Are they difficult?We have state exam after fourth year in grammar school.
17. Do you also have High Schools (=only bachelor diploma) besides universities?No answer.
18. Which % of your class smokes?Three or four people in our class are regular smokers and maybe
other five or six people smoke occasionally. It can be said that
25% of our class smokes.
19. How much pocket money do you get?We get about 15 – 25 € per moth.
