1. Is your country a kingdom or a republic? Who is your King / President?
Republic - official head is the president - Václav Klaus
2. Is your country a democracy chosen by a Parliament?Yes, our Parliament has two house chambers: Senate House and Chamber of Deputies
3. How often do you hold elections? Can the President be re-elected?We hold elections into the Chamber of Deputies once per four years, into Senate House once per six years and the President is elected once per five years and can be re-elected once.
4. Which political parties are there?Czech Social Democratic Party, Civic Democratic Party, Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia, Christian Democratic Union-Czechoslovak People party, Freedom Union-Democratic Union and Unclassified Deputies
5. Is there corruption? Have political leaders been bribed?Yes its common situation - mainly in football!!! And also we have cases when the politics were bribed.
6. What is / what are the ruling political parties?Now it is Czech Social Democratic Party but this year we have new elections.
7. At which age can you go voting?at 18
8. Is it an obligation to vote?no its only on you
9. Does your country accept asylum seekers? Are there many?not so many like in your country. Mainly people from China, Ukraine, Slovakia...
10. Are there a lot of gossips about political leaders?Yes of course. We meet them daily - on TV, in the newspapers.
